new news

i've included my scan pic as its a good way of documenting things. this is Lil bear (dan calls me bear) so seemed appropriate as we don't know the sex. this is dated at 11+5 weeks. for those who don't understand the terminology it means 11 weeks and 5 days. but as i'm officially 15 weeks now it mean lil bear is bigger and more developed... in Lil bears scan pic you can make out the line for eyes and the head a hand and 2 feet. i think lil bear is using my placenta as a cushion lol lazy like their dad hahah! i first felt Lil bear kick on christmas day evening it was a great xmas prezzy not only that but it was a swift kick to the bladder! was a good day in general a lil stressful but what xmas isn't...
I've made a new friend called Lucy who is 6 days ahead of me she lives about 3/4 hour drive away but hey at least i'm not going alone :) met her on babyexpert.com and she's also a friend on facebook now. she has a 5 yr old daughter and her partner andy is 2 yrs older than her. Its nice to have someone so close in the pregnancy stages and to also meet ppl who can help you when times get a lil trying.

My friend Kerry and Jayme (my friend i've known 15yrs & her 7yr old daughter) have asked to learn to crochet so i have been teaching them how to do the basics. Kerry has taken to it easier but no surprise as she is 25 and can concentrate easier. I'm very proud of Jayme though she's mastered the chain but struggles with after the 1st row as she doesn't look for the holes and it ends up twisted. so i decided on her last lesson b4 xmas she could free hand it and she made the shape of a giraffe and a bracelet. she has had a total of 3-4 lessons on crochet b4 xmas and we are waiting for everything to calm down again b4 starting again or her head will be all over the place. Her mom, Kerry thought it might help her to have her show her too while at home so she got extra practice in so on xmas eve Kerry come over to see me and i showed herr the single crochet (i've explained that although i'm english the american terms are easier as most patterns i had were american. we spent half an hour going over it b4 she headed home across the road. she continued at home and made up lots of lil squares and rectangles she says she's going to make up a lil blanket or something with them so last night i gave her my scrap squares to play with and look at while she learns. i showed her the different squares i made and the pretty 5 petaled flowers. i loaned her my book Dan brought me for xmas as it isn't one i'd use for patterns as its too retro for me.

I gave holly (kerry's 3yr old) the shawl i had been making for his nan but decided she probably wouldn't make it anyway and she was also wearing the hat i had made her. it was funny kerry has asked for a hat and now it appears her mom has fallen in love with the girls hats so has asked me to make one for her too lol bless.... all in all i have found someone to pass my work to mwhahaha its not just sat half finished till i find it an owner to finish it for. woohoo. when i gave holly the shawl she threw herself at me for a hug and a thank you. WITHOUT prompting from anyone it was sooooo cool!
roll on june when i can have my lil one to hold.... ahhh that wont be soon enough for me
